(May 27, 2026) Home theater bass is officially getting pushed into absurd territory. Again.

Ascendo Immersive Audio has announced the new DSP4-6602, a high-output DSP amplifier designed specifically for large-scale residential cinema systems and the kind of infrasonic subwoofer setups that make drywall nervous.

For this one, the numbers alone tell the story. The DSP4-6602 is capable of delivering up to 6600 watts RMS while maintaining sustained low-frequency output down to 5Hz. That’s well below the threshold of traditional hearing and firmly into the territory of tactile pressure and room movement – heck, home movement! – and the kind of bass enthusiasts dream of. It's stable into 2-ohm loads and can also be bridged into 4-ohm configurations, allowing it to drive some of Ascendo's largest infrasonic and high-output subwoofer systems without running out of steam.

But the bigger angle here isn’t just brute energy. Ascendo says the DSP4-6602 was specifically developed to bridge the gap between professional touring-style amplification and the real-world needs of luxury residential theaters. That’s important because many pro-grade amplifiers have trade-offs that simply don’t suit premium home environments. Cooling fans can be loud, integration options limited, and operational behavior often assumes the amplifier is living backstage at a concert venue rather than inside a dedicated cinema room attached to someone’s home.

Ascendo's answer is a platform designed to retain the low-frequency authority of professional amplification while adding the refinement expected in residential installations. The amplifier uses a low-noise cooling system intended for in-room operation and adds integration-friendly features including configurable auto-standby, selectable 12V trigger logic, trigger output, and Ethernet-based multi-amplifier management. And despite overall output capability, Ascendo has kept the chassis compact. The DSP4-6602 uses a 1RU form factor, allowing easier integration into equipment racks where space efficiency matters.

The Ascendo DSP4-6602 is available now through Ascendo Immersive Audio and authorized partners. To learn more, click here to visit the product page.
