Hello everyone,

My name is Skip and I am an avid 2 channel enthusiast in the Dallas area. While I do enjoy movies, I found myself enjoying music more and focused more on that aspect of my journey. My username is actually my business name, but to be clear, I am a hobbyist first and dealer second. I have also founded an audio society in this area (Audiophiles of North Texas - find us on facebook) with the focus on the connections, not the business or the gear.

Anyways, my systems now are made up of gear that I import from Italy: Rosso Fiorentino, MastersounD, and North Star Design. I have an Epson 8100 upstairs and a Sony XBR-75X940C downstairs. Most of my movie time is streamed from Netflix because when it comes time to get serious, I always find myself going back to music.

I will probably keep my conversations in the 2 channel section as I respect the HT enthusiasts, but have nothing in the way of advice to give.

Cheers,

Skip

Hi Skip... lovin' on two-channel more and more myself... only a few movies here and there.

Welcome to AV NIRVANA ... glad to have you here and glad to have some support for two-channel in the house. :T

Nice to have you, Skip – welcome to the Forum!

Regards,
Wayne

Thanks gentlemen. Wayne, how is Katy doing now? I haven't been to Houston since Harvey but have had multiple family members affected.

AHHHH! Skip so sorry. I checked earlier to see if you had introduced yourself and didn’t realIze. Anyway, welcome! This is cool that you already know people here.

For everyone else, I met Skip for the first time at the GTG I posted about. While it was an overall great event, the most enjoyment I had was sitting with Skip listening to the system he brought and talking about music. I now consider Skip an audio friend and hope to have more opportunities to listen to some great tunes with him. Even if we do disagree on Jolene.

Jolene needs to find a hiccup in the system and disappear from Pentatonix's catalog forever. I was prepared to like that one and hated it. I was prepared to hate Bohemian Rhapsody and loved it.

Everyone has a misstep once in a while. Jolene was theirs.

Bohemian Rhapsody is really good. I liked their vocalization of the lead guitar. They did Brian May proud.

Hey Skip, welcome! While I'm more of a theater enthusiast, I'll give you a pass . I jest, of course. Glad you decided to join our site! See you on the forum!

Welcome aboard Skip!

Enjoy your stay with us

Don't worry Todd. I don't blame you for your faults. ;) It's a hobby after all - there are many ways to skin this cat.

Welcome aboard Skip, glad to have you with us.

Welcome Skip, always nice to have another enthusiast on board! I'm sure you'll find plenty to talk about with us 2 channel guys. Looking forward to reading your posts!

Hi Skip loved your two channel setup at my GTG meet in Plainfield Il. It was nice meeting you and hearing your equipment.
Mike

Hey Mike! I loved that you were able to host. That was such an experience for me and I still think about it. I've since added a pair of 'lowly' 12" Polk DSW subs to my living room system where we watch movies but I haven't had a chance to test them yet.

This is how it starts. Next thing you know you will have four 24" subs and wonder where it all went wrong.

Welcome to AV NIRVANA, Skip. 2 channel rules in my house, as well.

Excellent Dennis. I'll share some of my 2 channel gear with you then...

Welcome to AV NIRVANA, Skip.

Oh, Harbeth!

:T As of a few weeks ago I became the Dallas dealer for them. I've been impressed thus far, especially with the 30.2. That is a fine speaker that can work extremely well in almost any given situation. I still need to get more time on them all before I pass final judgment, but first impressions are definitely positive.

Indeed. Have enjoyed the Harbeth sound every time I have heard it.
