REW Beta Release REW API beta releases

Preferences help section says:

"Make sure that the input channel is the one connected to your SPL meter (or mic preamp output). If Use loopback as timing reference has been selected in the Analysis preferences the other channel will be used a reference to remove time delays within the computer and interface, this requires a loopback connection on the reference channel."

I can't see any "Use loopback as timing reference" option.

Hi, I'm testing the REW API. Cool idea! It looks like it should be possible to set the PEQ on a WiiM Ultra streamer automatically from REW measurements, for faster, "simpler" adjustments.

I am getting an error and this is just about error handling. If the measurement isn't selected in the GUI, REW throws an NPE (error dialog) during the import/EQ setup calls, and Match target then never reports completion. If you select it first, it's OK. Details below.

Environment: REW V5.40 Beta 135, Eclipse Adoptium JRE 17.0.20.1 64-bit, macOS 27.0.1, started with -api.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start REW fresh with the API: open -a /Applications/REW/REW.app --args -api. No measurements are loaded, and GET /measurements/selected returns 0.
2. POST /application/blocking with body true.
3. POST /import/frequency-response-data with {"identifier":"npe-repro","isImpedance":false,"startFreq":20,"ppo":48,"magnitude":"<base64 BE float32[]>"}. This is a synthetic response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. → Import … ID 1 completed
4. Don't select the measurement. GET /measurements/selected still returns 0.
5. POST /measurements/1/equaliser with {"manufacturer":"Generic","model":"Configurable PEQ"}. → Equaliser selected
6. PUT /measurements/1/target-settings with {"shape":"Full range"}. → Update processed
7. POST /measurements/1/eq/command with {"command":"Calculate target level"}. → Completed
8. POST /measurements/1/eq/command with {"command":"Match target"}.

Expected: Match target finishes and returns 200.

Hi @John Mulcahy can you please take a look at https://www.avsforum.com/posts/64633887/ thread and couple of posts after this thread where the MSO (Multi-Sub Optimizer) team has found how Biquad Coefficients need special adjustments for lower frequencies on miniDSP running the stock 96KHz firmware. Can these optimizations be added into REW EQ wizard when generating the miniDSP biquad file?

As you read posts, you can focus on post by the MSO developer i.e. andyc56 user and its posts so you can quickly filter out all the other conversations happening. You will likely need to read about 4-5 pages from this post to get everything the team found and did to come up with a solution. Thank you for taking a look and potentially doing further optimizing REQ EQ for miniDSP.
I've added coefficient optimisation on export for the next build. It was pretty straightforward, just needed to evaluate the effects of 1 lsb changes in the coefficients and pick the set with the best match to the nominal response. It is only done for centre frequencies below 50 Hz.
