Both are useful. Pink noise is arguably the easiest tool for setting levels and doing RTA measurements. Sweeps are useful for many other measurements.Is Pink Noise or Sweeps preferred when doing calibration?
All other channels are muted while producing the sweep for a particular channel but I don't have top middle and front wide channels to test (interestingly only the channels I don't have are problematic). These 256k long TrueHD sweeps were created more recently and in the very low probability case that I have done channel muting mistakes, it's extremely unlikely that I have repeated the exact same mistakes in these ones:

Can you kindly avail these in the form of a download link.I had created lossless M-Noise sweeps a while back (mkv format, 46 seconds each). They are all at equal volume to each other with dialnorm settings off but there's no easy way to measure their dbFS levels accurately. Still, it will help with level matching probably even better than pink noise as they have higher crest factor:
These lossless sweeps are the latest and are perfect including FWL & FWR and no spill problems either. LFE sweep (SWx.mlp) already has -10dB embedded.

Gotcha, I hadn't realized that.Not a good idea. That file is skipped because it has a 120Hz LPF embedded in it by Dolby. Better to use REW's internal LFE sweep.
Best way is to plug the sub to a speaker preout and run a full range sweep.Gotcha, I hadn't realized that.
I do have a question though. Is the LPF of LFE that is normally turned on inside the receiver also being disabled when EQ'ing subs? I have the Onkyo RZ-50, and I noticed that I had to disable LPF of LFE to get my LFE sweeps to show their true response without being affected by that LPF.
I ran sweeps with LPF of LFE disabled, set to 120Hz and then set to 80Hz. I then created predicted 24dB/oct L-R LPF in REW at 120Hz and 80Hz mesurements on the LPF of LFE disabled sweep to confirm that they matched.
This led to more confusion, because now I don't know if I should be EQ'ing the sub sweep that came from the LPF of LFE disabled sweep, the 120Hz LPF of LFE sweep that is normally there unless I disable LPF of LFE temporarily for sweep, or the actual 80Hz crossover response I use with my main speakers.
Each has a different IR peak timing difference, so time aligning is also a factor for each.

There is a Marantz 6015 receiver, speakers on the floor and on the ceiling. Today, what is the best way to measure in-ceiling speakers? Through ASIO4All, or by playing mp4 files from a flash drive connected to the USB connector of the receiver with sweep, or by physically connecting the wires from the speakers on the ceiling to the outputs of the receiver for the speakers on the floor, or is there another way?
