Iam very new to this_ sorry if im wrong somewhere . I have Yamaha 3070 receiver with Yamaha PX3 power amplifier, Sony BDP- S4100 Bluray player, Polk RTia9 floor standing, Polk CSIA6 center, Polk flxia4 surround back , Azure B-40 V.2 rear surround, Elac A4 Dolby Atmos and SVS PB 2000. Room shape and size is odd like L shape. I have attached few pics for your reference. Any advice on setup would be greatly appreciated.!

And to be honest my Denon x2200 sounds more better in terms of bass performance then Yamaha 3070 receiver ☹️

It's going to be difficult to get much help from the room, but I would say the Denon will likely be better because it has better bass response correction than the Yamaha. Yamaha has the YPAO and it just doesn't do well with bass, while the Denon has Audyssey, which is much better. The higher end models have 512 filters of resolution for the bass alone.

I can't see how the over head rear center speaker is doing any good for surround... it will just be bouncing off of everything else before it hits your ears... it's not "behind" you like it should be. I would personally do away with it.

Your seating is also very low to get the best sound from your main speakers, if you listen to much music. May not make that much difference with movies.

What Sonnie mentioned above regarding seating is good advice. Here is some other info I found on the subject of ear to speaker height:
Experiment and find out what works best in your room setup.

From: http://www.mapleshadestore.com/freeupgrades.php

"Sit Low To The Floor"

"Nearly everybody sits too high. The "tweeters at ear level" rule sounds logical but almost always fails when tested. Every speaker has a different optimum listening height; if you’re off the optimum ear height, you’re not getting your money’s worth. Test by sitting on one, then two, then three phone books on the floor at your normal listening spot. At the optimum height, you’ll hear an amazing new warmth and fullness in baritone voice, trombones, tenor sax, plucked bass—and a far more natural treble balance."

Thanks a ton Sonnie and Grayson.

Center speaker is perfectly good and working fine with crisp movie dialogue and delivers special effects. I have bend down center speaker focusing towards seating position and i dont see any bouncing off of everything else before it hits my ears. Seating is also very low as you said, iam planning to do something for it but i dont find much options because of the shape of the room.

Ya i felt Denon 2200 sounded more better in bass then Yamaha 3070- Now i understand the
difference between YPAO and Audyssey

you truly said, listening to music is not that great experience. Movies are great and no doubt in it .

Grayson- Though the seating position is low but the tweeters of the floor standing comes close to my ear level.
surely i will go through the link and see what better i can learn and make the changes.

thanks a lot guys!

Regards,
Shailesh

Hey Negatron, that's right, however behind the red curtains in center we have a door which opens for the balcony and which is used very often by us. If I rotate to 90 degree and place a TV unit in between then it's very difficult to open and have access. My bad..
Thank you for the advise.

Shailesh
