Can can your current speakers be moved down just to check the theory?

A rough layout of the room with speaker locations might be helpful.

Could the existing speakers be used as rear top or rear height in your atmos setup with or without using surround back speakers?

The measurements on JBLs website differ quite a bit from Amir's measurements I posted the link to.

I was thinking you might try using the speakers you're looking to lower as Atmos rear height or rear tops (ceiling) depending on angle to MLP. You might even try foregoing the surround backs in favor of Atmos heights in either configuration.

I would wonder about the voicing of other than matching Paradigm speakers...

If there is a reasonable return policy for the Infinitys you could try those... At less than $150 what the heck...
