All I know is the new mic solved the spike appeared all of a suddden without any reason with the old one. (Iremind that the peak appered even with the laptop outside by night in a quiete neighberhood) But I am cursed. The new mic Umik-1 reads all impulses in reverse (all positive satellites are now negative polarity and sub negative are now positive polarity....shi....I think I will ask for a replacement becaus I don't think that Dirac DLBC will like it (even if all is in reverse)So is the issue fixed now with the current sound setting?
This is certainly a bizarre issue, but as others have alluded to, a 60Hz spike could be caused by any number of electrical items on that same circuit. Possibly something trivial that you wouldn't think about.
