weird damage/image retention issue from brand new 65 inch Bravia 5

I'm locking my doors and windows as I type this... starting to get concerned that Mike might show up unannounced to "discuss" his TV issues in person. :hide:

What?!?!?!? NO WAY

So… what’s your next move? Can you get Costco to ship you one from another part of the country?

not sure. definitely calling sony to at least inform them as that's not exactly normal.

It may be why Costco got them so cheap... B stock. I don't know that most may not even notice this issue.

POOOSSSIBLY, but anything is possible.

yeah I grew up watching Pioneer and Panasonic plasma's so I was WELLL versed in picking up burn in. as for the noticing... I think to a certain extent you're right. BUT, the pictures I'm showing have a hard time picking it up on camera. in person it looks about double as easy to see it as the pictures show. even my wife can see it it pretty easily, and she's not exactly discriminating. it's one of those things that it just pops off the screen every time a white, or very pale background show up.

Do you review many Sony movies? You might tell them you one of the guys reviewing their movies and maybe they'll send you a freebie. :dontknow:

no good there. the CS was just your typical indians' reading off a script and the last time I called in they tried to deny warranty because "we don't cover burn in". and hung up. I'm trying to deal with a tier II agent right now.

EDIT: gonna lose my salvation talking to them...whoooooosa

Ugh. That’s no good.

I've had better CS experiences with TCL than I am with Sony right now

I don't know man. I've paid the "Sony tax" for years because their CS was god tier and they had great build quality. but with the way I'm being treated I may not be paying that tax anymore. I'm highly considering getting a TCL QM7K or L series and just get a geek squad warranty to back it up. this is INSANE

TCL now controls Sony TV, rolling out over the next year... maybe that's a good thing for Sony CS!

lol, yeah, I heard that goes through in 2027... here's to hoping...because right now I have a throbbing vein in my forehead that won't go away from my 4 conversations with them. each time I call in I get a different answer, a different perspective, and they keep getting worse.

I miss the days when you could call in and talk to a tier II TECHNICIAN. an actual Sony technician who worked on the TVs who could understand this stuff
