V5.40 Beta 135 – NPE loading UMIK-1 calibration file (CalData.pathMap is null)

Hi John,

I am getting a reproducible exception whenever I try to load a UMIK-1 calibration file:

java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "java.util.HashMap.put(Object, Object)" because "roomeqwizard.CalData.pathMap" is null

Stack trace starts with:

roomeqwizard.CalData.setSourcePath(y:3249)
roomeqwizard.CalData.calFileLoader(y:3314)

System: Windows 11, REW V5.40 Beta 135, bundled Eclipse Adoptium JRE 17.0.17 64-bit, miniDSP UMIK-1.

The same exception also occurs with V5.40 Beta 133.

I have tried:

• Delete preferences and shut down
• Removing all existing mic calibration entries
• Both EXCL: Microphone (UMIK-1) and Microphone (UMIK-1)
• Copying the calibration file to a simple path: C:\UMIK\UMIK.txt
• Starting REW with the UMIK-1 disconnected, then connecting it after REW has fully started and allowing REW to detect it automatically

In every case, selecting the calibration file immediately produces the same CalData.pathMap is null exception.

The UMIK calibration file appears normal and starts with a Sens Factor/SERNO line followed by frequency/correction pairs.

REW previously worked normally with this UMIK-1 and calibration file.

In C:\Users\<your user name>\REW look for a file called pathmap.bin. Please email it to feedback@roomeqwizard.com along with the rew_output.txt file from that folder and then delete pathmap.bin.
