My name is Barry. I'm obsessed with audio systems, different ways we create and reproduce music, and the way music influences and connects all of us.

I'm a coffee lover. Every morning starts with the real deal Bulletproof coffee. Right now my beans are Caribou Coffee 'Bold North Blend', limited edition dark roast with "ground warm caramel & barrel oak". It's one that makes you stop and savor the intense flavor.

One of my goals is to be in perfect health and fitness. I have a long, long way to go but to serve that end I do call myself a biohacker. If any of you have gone through a journey of improving your health I'd love to hear from you.

I have a son who's 8 years old and in the third grade. I'm very proud to say he's a top student and he's very curious to learn. For better or worse, he's already connected with online communities to learn about his collectibles, movie easter eggs, mobile apps and much more.

I'm online in various places by my first and last name.

Hi Barry and welcome to AV NIRVANA

:wave:Welcome aboard AV NIRVANA

Enjoy your stay with us.

Hi Bary nice to meet you. I appreciate the comment on the distortion article and hope you enjoy the others.

I too am an avid coffee drinker. I mostly drink from Paradise Roasters as they are my favorite right now. Most of their coffees rank very highly in professional cupping events and I've found them to be priced fairly. I drink their Blue Sky blend as my day to day and currently have their Ethiopian Yurgechef as my single origin roast. I also just finished a sample of Easy One Coffee roasters Kenya kiruga.

Did I see correctly that you currently run a car audio company?

Thank you, Sonnie. Do you remember getting a pair of speakers from me?
Barry! Oh yes... now my memory is working again (albeit probably temporarily). Yes indeed... got a pair of CDT's from you for my truck... the best speakers I have ever owned that would actually produce real mid-bass from any car door I've ever owned ... and do it with authority.

Certainly glad to have you with us... coffee lover here too... about 3-4 stainless mugs per day (12oz at a time). I do the K-cups, so not quite as connoisseurish as what you do, but I live my Dark Italian Roast ... and I have several other flavors. Got a friend who does the beans and always love his coffee.

I'm looking over Paradise Roasters now. I'm curious about their roasting processes in particular.

Yes, that's correct.

Yes, that's correct.

They purchase mostly lots at auction or direct from the farms. It's all smaller farms and often supporting families with fair wages. This is true of many of these roasters, but something I like.

They aren't a micro-roaster in that they don't roast tiny personal batches just for you. They roast a few days a week I believe. All of my orders have a roast date that is no more than a few days prior to the I recieve it.

I have a bunch of favorite roasters but most are quite expensive. I like Paradise because they charge fairly.

If you prefer a very light roast I would suggest someone else. I don't love their light roasts and I think it's not a type they like much either. They rarely offer it. They do a good City roast and that is what most of the coffees I get. Some being more of a full city.

If you like the light or cinnamon roast let me know. I can let you know some roasters I think do a great job there. They are just more expensive.

As for car audio, we have some other car sound members as well. Much discussion about measurements in cars. It's not something I've been a part of recently, but at one time I was a fully sponsored IASCA competitor. I was a regional and state level champion but never managed to place highly nationally. I often feel like if I knew then what I knew now I could have been a true champion.

Now I know to drink the Hazelnut when I visit!
