Yes, Triangle's Capella 2 remains an active, wireless stereo system at its core, but this time refinement centers on control and integration. But let's start this article with what you see, because it's impossible to ignore the gorgeous visual appeal Triangle delivers. Hand-built in Soissons, France, the Capella 2 range is available in five finishes — English Green, Astral Blue, Space White, Space Black, and Oak — with buttery, lacquered surfaces and anodised aluminium detailing. The look is distinctly European, and the finishes are designed to carry across matching SO5 stands and the new Lunar 3 turntable, which now joins the Capella ecosystem in coordinated colors.
The heart of the system is the new Stereo Hub 2, which acts as both network player and wireless transmitter. Communication between the hub and the speakers is handled via WiSA, allowing high-resolution audio transmission without a physical speaker cable connection between channels. That separation means the speakers only require power, giving greater flexibility in placement without routing interconnects across the room.
Streaming support is devilishly comprehensive. Capella 2 handles high-resolution playback up to 24-bit/192kHz via Wi-Fi and supports AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect Lossless, Tidal Connect, Roon Ready, and UPnP/DLNA for network libraries. Bluetooth 5.2 is also included. For wired integration, the Stereo Hub 2 offers HDMI eARC with CEC for TV connection, three optical S/PDIF inputs, coaxial digital, USB-B for computer audio, USB-A, RCA stereo, and a 3.5mm analogue input.
Not enough?
Triangle also gives you access to a dedicated subwoofer output, which can be configured through the Triangle Capella app, allowing owners to dig a little deeper if desired.
Internally, the hub runs on a Cortex A53 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, providing a noticeably quicker interface response compared to the original version. It also introduces a new radio-frequency remote control that charges via USB-C, along with an RJ45 Ethernet port for those who prefer a wired network connection.
On the acoustic side, each speaker harbors 100W of Class D bi-amplification, effectively 2 × 50W per speaker, with a dedicated amplifier and digital converter per driver. DSP handles crossover duties at 3,600Hz and continuously monitors driver performance. And, when talking fully spec factory frequency response, Triangle specifies a range of 42Hz–22kHz (±3dB), which places Capella 2 firmly in full-range music territory.
The mid-woofer is a 6.5" natural cellulose pulp design, a material long associated with Triangle’s voicing philosophy and known for its neutral midrange presentation. It’s mounted on a ventilated aluminium chassis with a half-roll suspension. High frequencies are handled by the TZ2530MG horn-loaded tweeter, featuring a 25mm magnesium/aluminium alloy dome. A downward-firing bass reflex port manages low-frequency dispersion, while the curved cabinet and internal DVAS bracing system aim to reduce diffraction and resonance.
Room interaction is addressed through an automatic calibration system accessible via iOS devices or an optional Zen calibration microphone. For users who prefer manual adjustment, the Triangle Capella app for iOS and Android includes a full equalizer.
Complementing the system is the Lunar 3 turntable, developed in collaboration with Pro-Ject. Priced at $899, the Lunar 3 features a one-piece carbon tonearm weighing 6g, an Ortofon 2M Red moving-magnet cartridge, and a built-in MM phono stage for direct connection to the Stereo Hub 2. It supports 33, 45, and 78rpm playback via a discreet front-mounted speed selector and uses gold-plated connectors throughout.
Capella 2 made its UK debut at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2026 and will be available worldwide beginning in March. Pricing is set at $2,899 for the complete system, including a pair of active speakers, Stereo Hub 2, and accessories. The SO5 speaker stands are $349 per pair.
