Wow... an icon and great musician, lost. Seems to be a far too common occurrence these days!

Yeah... my wife just sent me a text about him. Cardiac arrest and on life support for a while before passing. On the younger side of old.

I'm really bummed out. Glenn Frey, Tom Petty, David Bowie... :(

Wait... I just read the LAPD is not confirming his death! Perhaps he survived!

If he's gone it would be pretty sad. Tom Petty was one of my favorites!

His daughter's tweet (which is a little too much to post here) basically says his death is falsely reported... would GLADLY change the title of this thread!

Sadly, it was true. RIP Tom Petty!

I know... really upsetting. Another great one lost!

RIP to a talented artist.

It was reported prematurely by some media outlets... he was on life support for a while (not expected to live), as it was being reported that he had died.

Hopefully he's playing on that big stage in the sky!

Most people don’t know this (although it’s easily found on the intenet), but as a teen Tom took guitar lessons from future Eagle Don Felder.

Regards,
Wayne

I’m still really saddened by this a week later. My brother and I have been texting each other favorite songs and interesting facts. It’s sad how much more I’m learning about him and appreciating him only after he’s passed.
