(January 9, 2026) JTR Speakers has built its reputation around performance-first engineering, prioritizing dynamics, clarity, and headroom for serious home theater systems. That philosophy was on full display last fall at Audio Advice Live, where founder Jeff Permanian introduced the Kallos speaker line, a product family that signaled a meaningful shift in form factor and visual design while keeping JTR’s sonic DNA firmly intact.

The Kallos Series was conceived as a more lifestyle-friendly system without sacrificing the attributes that made JTR a favorite among enthusiasts. The lineup is anchored by two passive loudspeakers, the Kallos 265 and Kallos 465, paired with a matching active subwoofer. Both speakers feature a rotatable 90 x 60 horn tweeter, loaded down to 1,500 Hz, enabling controlled dispersion and smooth integration in a wide range of rooms and orientations. Internally, JTR specifies premium crossover components, including Perfect Lay inductors and metallized polypropylene capacitors, choices that reflect the brand’s long-standing focus on signal integrity and consistency.

Cabinet construction is equally deliberate. The enclosures are built from stacked Baltic Birch laminations, a technique that increases rigidity while minimizing resonance. The result is a cabinet that feels purpose-built rather than decorative, finished with magnetic grilles and a clean baffle that works just as well in a dedicated theater as it does in a shared living space. Performance figures reinforce the intent. The Kallos 265 is rated at 94 dB sensitivity with peak output reaching 120 dB, while the larger Kallos 465 steps up to 97 dB and 123 dB, along with higher power handling.

Both speakers are designed to hand off bass duties to a subwoofer, which brings the Kallos 12Sub into the picture.

The Kallos 12Sub carries the same design language and shallow cabinet depth (roughly 12"), housing a high-output 12" driver powered by a 2,000-watt amplifier. It's compact by JTR standards, but still offers access to clean, authoritative low-frequency performance without overwhelming the rest of the system. Together, the Kallos speakers and sub form a cohesive system that blends high output capability with a more refined physical footprint.

That balance recently earned industry recognition. The JTR Kallos Series was named Audioholics’ 2025 Best Lifestyle Loudspeaker System, and JTR is marking the occasion with a limited-time sales event that runs throughout January.

From January 1 through January 31, 2026, JTR is offering 25% off the entire Kallos Series. Quantities are limited, and JTR notes that the event may end early if inventory thresholds are reached. Estimated lead time is approximately four weeks, though that may vary depending on order volume.

Discounted pricing during the event is as follows:
  • Kallos 265 at $1,424.25
  • Kallos 465 at $1,874.25
  • Kallos 465-FS at $2,024.25
