Anyone close to my age (65) is likely to remember this movie vividly from their childhood because as young children it was an annual television experience of wonderment and fright.

In adulthood I’ve also watched it on DVD and a few years ago on blu-ray. And while I haven’t seen it, @Michael Scott did an excellent review of the 4K UHD set a few years ago.

Now, with the 85th anniversary, this classic film will be in theaters at the end of this month.
Info and tickets are here:
You can also buy the tickets from your local theater as I did.

This will be an entirely new experience with this film. My wife, Glynda, and I are really looking forward to it. It’s an opportunity we’ve never had to view it as it was originally meant to be seen. It also just happens to be one of her favorite movies. You can guess one reason why.

If you hadn't added "You can guess one reason why" I don't know if I would have picked up on that.

Glinda?

I vividly remember waiting to see this one every time it aired. Loved it. Like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, it was an annual movie we loved and couldn't wait to see. The Wizard of Oz may have been the best of all of them I can remember.

This reminds me to upgrade to the 4K disc, a timeless classic worthy of anyone’s collection.

Turned out to be a fun time as expected. :)
There were lots of visual details I hadn’t noticed before, likely as a result of paying closer attention vs picture quality. Regardless, very enjoyable.

I see The 5th Element is on the schedule for November. A worthwhile wait, indeed.

Great to hear.
