(October 22, 2025) Yamaha is back with a major leap forward with its TRUE X BAR 90A, a Dolby Atmos soundbar that also happens to be the world’s first to feature Auro-3D. This soundbar isn’t just another premium audio bar; it’s a complete reimagining of how home theater sound is delivered. Using Yamaha’s proprietary beam driver technology, the 90A projects sound with precision, creating convincing overhead and surround effects through adjustable beam angles and focal length calibration, all tuned by ear.
We met up with Yamaha's Phil Shea to talk about the X Bar 90A and hear an in-person demo, and color me impressed. Beyond Auro-3D, the bar incorporates a few technologies that no other soundbar on the market can offer, including one that allows you to physically adjust the upfiring speakers to beam according to soundbar placement and ceiling height.
