(April 22, 2026) Better TV sound usually means adding something bulky to a room. TCL is aiming to change that with its new A65K Designer Series Soundbar, an ultra-thin 3.1.2-channel system built to blend into modern spaces while delivering a serious upgrade over built-in TV audio.
At just under 2" deep, the A65K is unusually slim for a soundbar with Atmos ambitions. The cabinet was designed to pair visually with TCL's ultra-thin televisions, sitting flush beneath the screen and essentially disappearing. Inside the bar is a 3.1.2 speaker layout with nine drivers, including dedicated up-firing channels for height effects, all tuned by Bang & Olufsen. That means the A65K is built to reproduce Dolby Atmos overhead cues while also maintaining a true center channel for dialogue, something many entry-level bars skip. DTS:X support is onboard as well.
Connectivity includes HDMI eARC, which lets your TV send audio to the bar, along with Bluetooth 5.3 streaming and USB playback with support for MP3, FLAC, and WAV files. TCL TV Ready and Roku TV Ready compatibility are also listed, suggesting smoother integration for users already inside those ecosystems. And, speaking of integration, TCL includes AI Sonic-Adaptation room calibration with the A65K, giving the system room-tuning functionality that can tailor playback to your space. There are multiple EQ modes to further dial-in playback, including Movie, Music, Voice, Game, Night, Sports, and Custom.
To give the system authority and low-end impact, bass duties are handled by a wireless subwoofer equipped with a 6.5" driver. The sub itself is also relatively slim, measuring roughly 13.8" x 14" x 4.7", making placement easier than cube-style designs many buyers are used to.
Physically, the bar measures about 34.6" wide, making it a practical fit for TVs up to 65". A wall-mount kit, HDMI cable, remote, and batteries are all included in the box, which means you're given all the tools you need to get the bar up and running.
