I would guess in practical terms, they're nearly identical in output, with the 16 digging a bit deeper because of its added surface area. Would be interesting to see side/side measurement data, whether in-room same position or outdoors.

I would imagine with the extra power from the 5000, it would help achieve a small bump in the lows compared to the 16 when driven near reference levels - I’m talking 1-2db so nothing major. The 5000 doesn’t absolutely smoke the 16ultra from what I am reading but it seems to lead a 2-5db overall on the frequency range based on Ed Mullins response of 40hz and up - 5000 is 3-5db more. Below 40hz the gap lessens.
