SVS Officially Unveils Its Prime Ceiling Mount Insert

(June 19, 2017) SVS recently began shipping a great add-on feature to enhance the functionality of its bracket mounting system for Prime Elevation speakers. Today, we’ll take look at the company’s new Prime Ceiling Mount Insert, and reveal exclusive photos you'll only see on AV NIRVANA!

Prime Elevation ($199 each) is a speaker designed with versatility in mind, allowing it to be used in a multitude of ways. Its overall size (9.25” H x 5.44” W x 7.88” D) allows it to be discretely deployed as a center channel or stereo speaker, but also as a surround or height channel. In order to allow for total placement flexibility, SVS ships a unique multi-positional wall bracket mounting system with the speaker. Until recently, this do-it-all system accommodated a range of positions but didn’t allow for ceiling applications. That, however, has changed, which truly places Elevation in rarified air.

This is great news for enthusiasts looking to install a true Atmos speaker system. Speaking from experience, going the in-ceiling channel route is not only messy but also somewhat restrictive (because ceiling joists can limit speaker locations). The ability to fit a high-performing speaker – like Elevation – anywhere on the ceiling is a huge benefit.

The Ceiling Mount Insert is made of flexible rubber and outfitted with two anchor magnets; using it is easy and straightforward. Simply install the standard Elevation mount on the ceiling, attach your speaker to the bracket, and then slip the Ceiling Mount Insert between the bracket and the speaker. A small channel on the backside of the insert fits over the speaker’s two protruding mounting points, trapping them and making it nearly impossible for the speaker to jiggle loose and fall from the mount. The insert’s magnets attach to the bracket, holding it firmly in place.

SVS is including the Ceiling Mount Insert, free of charge, with all Elevation speaker purchases. New customers simply need to select it as an option before proceeding to checkout. The company is also offering it free to existing owners of Prime Elevation speakers (to order, contact SVS via email at custservice@svsound.com or call 877.626.5623).

It's a great solution. Simple too.

I reviewed the Prime Elevation about 6 months ago. It's a high performance speaker that deals as advertised. The fact that you can mount it on your ceiling? Fantastic.

This takes an extremely flexible speaker and makes it more so.

I still have brackets I purchased from way back when I was initially planning Atmos, but ended up building boxes for my in-ceiling speakers. These look nice... and it's good to see SVS finally got something that will help solve a lot of issues with mounting their speakers.
