SVS's PB12 (top) and SB12-NSD subs go on sale Monday
(November 17, 2017) Tis the season for big sales and huge savings on home theater gear and equipment! Why not kick it off by bringing big bass into your life?

SVS has – for several years running – tempted its loyal customers with crazy low Black Friday pricing on select subwoofers, and this year is no different. Beginning on Monday November 20 at 9AM, SVS is unleashing a thunderous deal on two classic NSD subwoofer models. The prices, according to SVS, are the “lowest prices ever on ported and sealed SVS subwoofers.”

First up is the company’s PB12-NSD sub, which was originally offered for $800. This coming week, the PB12 can be had for $499 shipped! The PB12 is a ported design that features a 12-inch driver mated to a 400 Watts RMS (800 Watt peak) Sledge DSP amplifier. The company says performance highlights include deep bass output laced with pinpoint accuracy and transient speed. Physically speaking, the PB12’s manageable stature (66 lbs, 20.9” W x 17.7” H x 22” W) and attractive Black Ash finish/metal front grill make it a great choice for media rooms and high traffic areas of a house.

SVS’s second sale offering, the SB12-NSD, is a sealed version of the PB12, delivering even greater manageability and placement flexibility (38 lbs, 14.5” W x 14.5” H x 14.5” D). Harnessing the power of the same 12-inch driver and 400 Watt Sledge amp, the SB12 has a specified output of 23 Hz to 270 Hz (+/- 3dB). That makes for impressive room filling bass that will amp your home theater experience! Originally priced at $680, the SB12’s Black Friday price is $399.

To sweeten the pot, SVS is including fast and free shipping and a five-year unconditional warranty with both subs. You can even take advantage of the company’s one-year trade-up policy!

In other SVS news, the company has planned an exciting new product launch event for Wednesday, November 29 at IQ Home Entertainment in Fairfax, Virginia. AV NIRVANA will be on location, so stay tuned for more information!

Always good to have sales for great quality products. :)

Pretty nice deals. I guess I should return my Limited Edition Project Scorpio XBox One X for one of these babies!

I have the PB12-NSD and it's a killer sub. 499 shipped is an amazing deal that everyone needing a killer sub should jump on.

These prices are quite remarkable! If you have a small to medium sized room, you could have a quad array of sealed subs for $1200!

Every year when SVS has this kind of sale I get tempted to buy a SB12 NSD to perhaps use it as a mid bass module but never make the leap because I am not sure how it will sound with my duo DXD 12012 subs. My thought has always been to place the DXD stacked as designed in the front part of the room and one SD12 next to where I sit. (Currently I have one dxd in the front part of the room and the second next to where I sit) I am afraid though of cancelation since mine have dual 12 inch driver for each sub.

@Asere You'll need to check on this, but I believe SVS has a free in-home trial (just not sure it applies to these sale items)

Thanks Todd. I saw an email from Jack awhile back and he said it would not work since the Sb12 is too small. Before I remembered I had an email from Jack I chatted with SVS yesterday and someone else said yes it would work. Mixed bag here lol.

How big is your room? Perhaps the ported option would give it the extra kick needed?

Wow. Hmmm... definitely sounds like a situation where a ported sub would come in handy... and definitely something with a fairly large driver. A 12-in driver/sealed might not be enough. Try giving SVS another call (or maybe @Sonnie could chime in).

You think the KK's will have a better chance in a different smaller room that's around 2800 to 3200 cf?

Hmmm... I don't have any experience with them, so its hard to comment. Honestly, a dual 12" drivers seems like they'd be great for that 2,000 cf range. 3,000 is getting up there in size.

Is it a sealed room?

It is a formal living area. It is rectangular and has a hallway that leads to the kitchen and family room.

I think the only way to know is drag the gear in there... use your ears and (if possible) dial up REW and take a measurement.

Probably not what you wanted to hear ;-)

I recently grabbed two of the SB12 NSD subs from retailer, Nebraska Furniture Mart, just because they are such a great deal.

Oh man, Dennis... I hope you got close to this Black Friday pricing!

Your killing me....I really need to buy one of these for my living room setup and get rid of my cheap little sub....
I ordered up a SVS SB12-NSD. Will be a welcome upgrade for my living room setup... longtime in the coming. I listen to a lot of music on that system and watch tv and an occasional movie. Will be the fifth SVS subwoofer I add to the house. They are becoming a habit like my Polk speakers...I have 18 of those in the house.

You would need quite a few SB12's to do any good in a 4800cuft room that opens up into other rooms... that is if you plan to play them with any volume much at all. I would recommend the largest ported sub you can get... PB13 or PB16 if you are considering SVS.

I was planning on using an SB12 along with my dual kk 12012 subs. I know the kk will overpower a single sb12 but wanted to have one sb12 nearfield. I just don't know if that will work.

That might work if you get the right placement and crossover set accordingly. It will likely take a good bit of experimenting.

I was thinking on using XT32 on the kks and not the sb12. That way I can be sure the kks don't outdo the sb12. In other words get a flat response on the kks and don't worry about the sb12. I'm using it for nearfield tactile.
