Surface Pro Connection

I recently replaced my Pioneer receiver with a Denon AVR-X3600H. I need to use another input on the Denon as it appears the mic input is just for calibration. So I thinking I need to use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and install ASIO4ALL on my Surface PRO. Am I thinking correctly. Has anyone used a Surface PRO?

I think I read on the Microsoft Forums that someone was able to connect their Surface 3 to the AVR via Mini Display Port to HDMI, but it stopped all of the other HDMI CEC functions from working. He or she had to get an official surface MDP to HDMI 2.0 adapter to work properly. So, I suppose you will have to get one of those.

I use the Mini Display Port out for all HDMI connections - be careful - the cable looks like attached file - works great - you just have to remember to ensure the proper outputs are being used (switch from built in to HDMI.)

As to the surface pro - It's great - a few hiccups which maybe John could respond to - I'll post separate.

I purchased a very inexpensive Cabletime Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter and I've been able to send signals to 5 of my speakers. I haven't used it with REW yet, but I don't see any reason for it not to work. Still studying the REW manual.
