(May 9, 2022) StormAudio is using the grand stage of ISE 2022 to officially reveal the latest iteration of its top-shelf immersive processor. The ISP Elite MK3 isn't radically dissimilar from its previous MK2 version, internally speaking, but its exterior features an aggressive new look with edgy modern lines and a sleek new color display. Much like the MK2, the MK3 is crafted to be future-proof, utilizing upgradeable processors with problem-solving digital input and output options. It's fully compatible with DCI and Dolby ecosystem, as well as multiple DSP and amp platforms. Of course, it's ability to decode the latest advanced immersive formats, including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D, and IMAX Enhanced, while also upmixing with advanced solutions, makes it a true home theater star.
The MK3 is available in a variety of configurations, with up to 24-channels of decoding and a massive 32 channels of post-processing. It also comes in Digital AES/EBU and AoIP versions. Dirac Live and Dirac Live Bass Control remain featured room correction assets, along with the addition of Storm's proprietary Bass Management system.
“With the component shortages we have been experiencing, being able to release this update to our flagship processor is a huge success, and I’d like to thank our team and our key suppliers for the great job they are doing to navigate through this difficult period” said Olivier Thumerel, CEO of StormAudio. “We are very happy to be back at ISE and High End Show Munich and to see our customers and partners face to face again!”
Storm is also releasing firmware version 4.3r0 with a new HDMI Matrix function that allows different ways to use the second HDMI port available in any ISP model equipped with the HDMI 7+2 eARC board co-developed with Cypress Technologies. Two new multi-room modes—Zone2 AV and Pass Through—will be selectable, offering the possibility of linking a second HDMI output to a defined Audio Video Zone and the ability to connect the second HDMI output to another processor or TV set. The support of the Auto Lipsync feature will allow the system to automatically adjust the Audio Video delay to ensure perfect lipsync at all times.
The ISP Elite MK3 can be seen at StormAudio’s Booth 2P500 during Integrated Systems Europe 2022 in Barcelona (10-13 May, 2022) and experienced at Devialet’s Booth 2P530. It will also be present at the forthcoming Munich High End Show (19-22 May, 2022, booth A 4.2, E222), along with Storm's recently released 16-channel processor, the ISP Core 16.
