(May 11, 2023) Next week (May 18 thru 21), three top names in reference home theater are teaming up to showcase a true performance immersive theater system at High End Munich.
Attendees can find the demo at Messe München in Atrium 3.1, rooms D111 and C112. There, Dirac Live's new Active Room Treatment software run on StormAudio’s top-shelf ISP Elite MK3 Immersive Sound Processor will command a THX Certified Dominus 11.7.6 surround sound system of Perlisten speakers. Dirac Live Active Room Treatment leverages Dirac’s expertise in MIMO mixed-phase impulse response correction technology to make all speakers in a sound system work cooperatively to accomplish what passive acoustic treatments struggle to achieve. With decay times reduced digitally and automatically, listeners experience clearer sound in a larger sweet spot, devoid of boomy, smeared bass. The end result is an audio system that uses speakers to control and optimize a room’s sound quality, instead of the room dictating the experience.
According to Fredric Tapper, Dirac’s Vice President of Home & Pro Audio, the show’s custom-built home theater room demonstrates how the advanced capabilities and patented technologies of Dirac Live Active Room Treatment can optimize audio output for any system with two or more speakers, in any room, reducing the need for expensive acoustical treatments.

Active Room Treatment is currently scheduled to land on StormAudio Processors and Receivers during Spring 2023. In fact, the firmware is expected to drop most any day. Once downloaded, owners will have extraordinary control over low-end frequencies, which is particularly important for sub-optimal and poorly treated rooms. Of course, due to the difficulty of physically taming low-end frequencies, Active Room Treatment will have an impact on thoughtfully designed rooms, as well.
The ISP Elite MK3 Immersive Sound Processor heading to the High End Show can decode up to 24 channels across formats such as Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, and IMAX Enhanced. And it's capable of 32 channels of post-processing, backed by the most advanced version of Dirac Live Storm's own Expert Bass Management.

To make things more exciting, the trio's 15-seat demo home theater is the first THX Certified Dominus home theater ever showcased at High End. Its 11.7.6 surround sound system includes Perlisten's premium S Series In-Wall Speakers and seven subwoofers from its acclaimed D Series.

Dirac's Active Room Treatment will be included, at no additional fee, in all StormAudio units ordered from January 1st 2023 onward. Units ordered before January 1st will be upgradeable with Dirac Live Active Room Treatment after the Spring 2023 firmware update by purchasing a license from Dirac’s online store at $299.
