(January 28, 2019) Here’s a few quick news hits from the StormAudio camp. First up, the company has officially released a firmware update for all of its processors. This update – designated as 3.4r2 – brings full Dirac Live 2.0 (DLCT 2.0) and its improved functionality to the table. And because StormAudio has a worldwide presence, it’s important to note that it carries support for more languages, including Swedish, French, Mandarin, and Japanese.

StormAudio is also ready to impress at next week’s Integrate Systems Europe expo (ISE 2019). Backed by the company’s all-new management team, StormAudio has announced plans to join forces with Alcons Audio and M&K Sound for two home theater demo rooms. In one room, StormAudio’s 32-channel Digital AES Edition processor will be married to an Alcons Audio pro-ribbon loudspeaker system for a 9.1.6 immersive arrangement. While the other room pairs StormAudio’s 20-channel processor with various M&K speakers in a 9.1.4 deployment.

“We have our greatest yet ISE in store for dealers and distributors this year. We encourage everyone to visit our stand and home theater demos and experience the technological leadership and support that StormAudio brings. All will be impressed. This is the year that StormAudio makes its mark,” proclaims StormAudio’s CEO Olivier Thumerel.

Attendees can find the StormAudio/Alcons Audio system in Hall 6-H150, while the M&K system is slotted to be featured in a location outside of the exhibit hall (visit stand 5-U59 for more information).

I have the Storm Audio ISP 3d.20 elite and will be demoing it at AXPONA 2019. I've had the latest firmware installed for over a month (released 12/19/18), but haven't had a chance to test Dirac yet. My theater is still under construction. For AXPONA, I would like to have a 9.1.6 system. Four channels will be used to steer the bass for the 8 subwoofer horizontal array at the front of the room. If anyone has an questions about the Storm Audio processor, I'd be glad to answer them.

What is your room so we can visit? Let me know the name it’s under and if you know, room number and I’ll add it to my list.

I've heard you might be using the Storm Audio processor for one of your evening REW presentations. ;)

Nirvana C - These four companies share the room:
JTR Speakers - Speakers and Subwoofers
High Impact AV - Processor, Projector, Rack, Audio/Video Calibration
Digital Amp Company - Amplifiers
Seymour Screen Excellence - Projector Screen
This year almost all the gear will be from my own theater except the mains and subwoofers. I own the processor, amps, surrounds, heights, cabling, and may end up purchasing the screen for my theater.

Hah! I’m sorry I didn’t read your name I just posted. Yes that’s the plan. I still need to talk to Jeff about details.

I look forward to checking this thing out in person now.

Michael - I'm just curious as to your own experience using it. Is it consumer friendly? Or does it feel more like a custom install piece?

The Storm Audio processor is extremely easy to setup and make changes. All setup is down through a web browser so you can access through a computer, tablet, or phone. I think it is one of the easiest processors/receivers on the market to setup.

Love it! Dirac Live will soon be as readily available as that "other brand" of room EQ.

Does it have onscreen menus... volume settings, etc... like a fairly standard receiver?
