(March 9, 2026) StormAudio has released firmware version 4.7r2, yet another free update that introduces a redesigned web-based remote control interface and several improvements aimed at system control, HDMI reliability, and overall usability. The update is now available through the StormAudio client portal and applies across the company’s processor lineup, including the Elite series processors in MK1, MK2, and MK3 configurations, the I.ISP line, Core 16, Evo, and the Fusion 20.
Central to the update is a complete redesign of the StormAudio Remote Control WebUI. The new layout has been rebuilt from the ground up with a focus on clarity, responsiveness, and easier access to system information during everyday operation. According to Storm, the updated interface automatically adapts to different screen sizes, allowing the control page to scale smoothly whether it’s accessed from a smartphone, tablet, or desktop browser. The redesign also introduces a more modern layout intended to make common adjustments quicker and more intuitive.
One of the most visible additions is the integration of real-time VU meters, which provide visual feedback of input and output levels directly within the control interface. For installers and enthusiasts, this can be useful when verifying signal activity during setup, demonstrations, or troubleshooting. The interface now also includes a centered channel display that more closely reflects the room’s physical layout and speaker locations. By presenting channels in a spatially accurate arrangement, users can more easily monitor how their system is behaving during playback.
Multi-room projects also receive attention through simplified zone management, which reorganizes how zones are displayed and controlled within the interface. The goal is to reduce confusion and speed up navigation when managing multiple listening areas.
StormAudio notes that the new WebUI remote interface is part of a broader redesign of its web-based control environment, and will continue to evolve in future firmware releases. The company's dedicated iOS and Android apps remain available separately, continuing to provide native mobile control for users who prefer an app-based experience.
Firmware 4.7r2 also introduces several updates to improve HDMI behavior and system responsiveness, including reduced audio lock and switching times, allowing faster transitions between sources. Expanded HDMI compatibility is also included through support for larger EDID data blocks, helping ensure reliable communication with newer high-bandwidth video sources and displays.
Additional refinements target system reliability when the processor wakes from standby, optimizing HDMI restart behavior to ensure that video signals are restored more consistently. Improvements to CEC control have also been implemented, restoring toggle mute functionality and enhancing compatibility with standard television remote controls.
Storm says the update also addresses a handful of smaller issues identified in earlier firmware revisions. These include fixes related to Dirac filter management, signal routing behavior, display issues in certain filter configurations, and improvements to network-related notifications such as false MAC address conflict warnings.
Firmware version 4.7r2 is available now as a free download for compatible StormAudio processors through the company’s client portal.
