STIPA measurement in a big space

Hi. I celebrate v5.40 will allow for STI and STIPA measurement, via indirect method. Though, my question here is how can I do a measurement in a big space -say a hospital- where the room where the operator is located is separated from the hall I want to evaluate. How can I play the sweep tone (or the modulated signal) and at the same time capture it in the hall?

And the second question is: if the system is intended to be used with the sweep signal, what is the modulated speech signal intended for? Please clarify.

The speech signal can be used to capture levels, but REW can also calculate them from the IR. You could use the file playback option to allow separate systems to be used for replay and capture.

And it only works "live" with a sweep signal, or can also be done from a pre-recorded single signal (pistol or similar)?

REW requires its own sweep to generate an impulse response, but you could capture an IR by other means and import it for the STI calculation.
