(July 18, 2025) Status Audio is about to turn heads again, officially launching its latest true wireless earbuds, the Status Pro X. Following in the footsteps of its impressive predecessors, the Between Pro and Between 3ANC, the latter of which received heaps of praise in our own review, the Pro X earbuds mark a significant step forward in Status Audio's evolution.
Visually, the Status Pro X earbuds are noticeably smaller, reduced by 21 percent compared to their predecessor, and feature a thoughtfully redesigned ergonomic profile. This sleeker, metal-plated design not only enhances comfort but allows the earbuds to sit more naturally flush with the ear and jawline.
The Pro X’s acoustic performance continues Status Audio's tradition of excellence, employing the same celebrated hybrid triple-driver system found in previous models. This system combines a powerful 12mm dynamic driver with two precision-balanced armature drivers manufactured by Knowles, an industry leader in driver technology. Together, these components deliver a high-fidelity listening experience typically reserved for professional-grade in-ear monitors.
Adding to their audiophile appeal, the Pro X earbuds now support high-resolution LDAC and LC3 codecs, and they carry High Res Wireless Audio certification from the Japan Audio Society. This ensures that listeners can enjoy detailed, uncompressed audio streaming directly from their devices.
Beyond music playback, Status Audio claims to have made significant advancements in call clarity with the introduction of its Voiceloom AI Speech Enhancement technology. Utilizing a patented three-microphone beamforming array and deep neural network processing, the Pro X earbuds effectively reduce background noise while preserving the natural warmth and clarity of the user's voice, even in noisy environments. That alone might be worth the price of entry, as many, if not most, wireless products fail miserably at filtering out background noise.
Additional improvements include substantially enhanced hybrid Active Noise Cancelling, a fully adjustable transparency mode, and an optical wearing sensor for automatic pause and play functionality. The earbuds have received an upgraded IP55 rating for better water and dust resistance and feature Bluetooth 5.3 with future-proofed support for Bluetooth Auracast and LE Audio. Status Audio has also implemented convenient connectivity features like Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, and multipoint connectivity.
Battery life remains robust, offering eight hours of continuous playback with an additional 24 hours available through the charging case. The newly redesigned companion app, available for iOS and Android devices, offers enhanced customization and improved ease of use.
“The Pro X stands in a class of its own,” said James Bertuzzi, CEO of Status Audio. “We left no stone unturned, pushing our talent and creativity across all facets, from the core engineering to the finishing design touches. The result is a truly inspired product that looks, sounds, and performs like nothing else on the market.”
The Status Pro X earbuds are available for pre-order now at a retail price of $279, with shipments expected in early September. We have a review sample on the way, so stay tuned for a full evaluation!
