Spin It, Play It, Take It: Andover’s SpinPlay Brings Vinyl Anywhere

(November 10, 2025) It’s rare to find a turntable system that can spin vinyl, fill a room with sound, and still slide under an airline seat, but Andover Audio has managed to do just that. The Boston-based company has announced SpinPlay, the newest member of its growing Spin Collection, and it’s designed for listeners who want true hi-fi sound without the usual setup headaches or sprawling rack of gear.

Andover Audio might be a young name in the hi-fi world, but the company isn’t new to the game. Founded roughly 13 years ago, Andover began as an OEM manufacturer for major audio brands before launching its own line of compact, design-forward systems. Its first in-house record player, the Andover-One, debuted in 2019, and since then, the team has earned a loyal following for products that deliver genuine high-fidelity sound in small spaces.

The new SpinPlay keeps that DNA intact. It’s a complete vinyl playback system with everything built in. Its guts include a belt-drive system, a four-speaker array, and dedicated amplifiers for each driver. There are no cables to run, no counterweights to balance, and no guesswork. You literally lift it out of the box, plug it in, and drop the needle.

Under the hood, SpinPlay features Andover’s patented IsoGroove technology, originally developed for the company’s flagship Andover-One system. IsoGroove eliminates acoustic feedback by actively cancelling vibrations, allowing designers to place a turntable directly on top of a speaker enclosure without muddying the sound. That trick of engineering is what lets Andover build such compact, all-in-one systems that sound far larger than they look.

Each of the four built-in drivers has its own amplifier courtesy of Andover's own Dual Direct Drive amplification. Locked and loaded with two 1.75 x 4" oval woofers and a pair of .75" silk-dome tweeters, SpinPlay produces a 270-degree soundstage that spreads music well beyond its compact frame, reaching down to 60 Hz and extending up to 20 kHz.

The turntable itself is a precision belt-drive design with a 12-inch aluminum platter and 9-inch balanced tonearm, pre-fitted with an Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge. Both platter and belt arrive pre-installed, and the tonearm is pre-balanced, so there’s no need to tweak tracking force or counterweight before playing your first record. SpinPlay also includes end-of-record auto stop, electronic speed control, and adjustable anti-skate, making drop-and-play a reality.

Connectivity is robust. SpinPlay includes line, optical digital, and USB flash-drive inputs, along with Bluetooth 5.0 for both receiving and transmitting audio. That means you can stream music from your phone or send vinyl playback to wireless headphones or Bluetooth speakers. The system integrates easily with Andover’s other Spin components, such as the SpinSub subwoofer and SpinStand, which holds up to 150 LPs.

For those on the move, Andover will offer a SpinPlay Go-Bag in early 2026. It’s designed so the entire system can fit safely under an airplane seat or in an overhead bin. Yes, you read that correctly, SpinPlay is literally a hi-fi traveler’s dream for dorm rooms, vacation rentals, and weekend getaways.

The SpinPlay is available now for $729 in black or white, with shipments expected to begin mid-November through AndoverAudio.com and authorized dealers.
