Figured I'd start a thread here for discussion so we don't have to keep posting in the news thread. I'll be looking at the disc more heavily over the next couple of days with my Epson HC5050UB projector. Hopefully by Thursday or Friday I can get a look at it with my LG OLED - I have a contractor redoing my floors and they're working in that area this week.

Here's a link to the articles regarding the 3rd Edition.

Good to see the articles are up. Didn't take them long! :T

Got one of these coming from Robert at Value Electronics. Not sure if I am capable of using it, but maybe I can figure out the basics at least.

It's an evaluation disc, about the only thing you can do with it is set your brightness and contrast. There's not much more you can do with it calibration-wise.

Something about luminance ... is that the same thing as brightness?

I heard there was some pretty good 4K shots on it.

Luminance is the term used to measure the brightness of certain colors. It’s usually measured in nits or candelas. The brightness setting on your display, however, controls your black levels.

Just get in your car and bring your knucklehead self down here and calibrate my PJ.

Just sit back and enjoy it. If it looks correct to your eyes. it probably is close enough to not matter anyways. :T

If you would like a list of the shots in the montage video, Stacy Spears has provided a list here.

The first edition of the beginner's guide for this disc is up on their website here.
