(April 26, 2021) Sonarworks has announced a new industry partnership with Drop, integrating its SoundID personalized audio technology into the Drop + THX Panda Wireless Headphones.

The Drop + THX Panda Wireless Headphones are a closed-back planar magnetic design capable of delivering playback from 10Hz to 50kHz (26ohms, sensitivity 100dB), powered by a THX-AA-O Amplifier (-130 dB THD, 2.6uV A-wt noise, 10mW). Wireless connectivity features Bluetooth 5.0, which offers an effective range of 30-feet, and battery life can last over 30 hours. In addition, a robust IPX 6 rating means the headphones can resist a high-pressure water stream from any angle.

SoundID brings Sonarworks' Advanced Parametric EQ functionality to the table, allowing users to create a personalized sound profile that customizes how music sounds. The entire SoundID experience begins with an app-based test that identifies and saves listening preferences, while also uploading them to the Drop + THX Panda Wireless Headphones. Once onboard, DSP cores apply EQ to any source. Thanks to smart algorithms and machine learning, SoundID is able to evolve based on listening habits – owners can always adjust or reset output settings.

You can purchase The Drop + THX Panda Wireless Headphones with SoundID ($399) by visiting drop.com.

Love the headphones, but the comments in the Discussion section of Drop's headphone page have me concerned about the firmware update. Keeping an eye on them before making the jump.

They just arrived here... going to be a few weeks until I get to them. Dry curious, tho!
