Sketchup make 2017

Is there anyone that can help me with a project I am trying to make in sketchup? I have a box made, but I am having a hard time adding shelves and support rods. I must have missed something as when I move/copy items...they look correct but when I make a box around them and then move them parts are missing or it will not allow me to move them to the correct place.

Sketchup can be a frustrating and time-consuming process to learn, however, there is lots of good help available. My favorite tutorials are by Justin Geis on theTheSketchupEssentials channel on YouTube. He has produced a ton of very useful tutorials. You can find lots of stuff for beginners. Good luck!
