setting up denon x4800h with pc for dirac live

Not a Denon user either and the lack of Denon documentation is quite surprising.
Anyway, as with @Sonnie Parker , my Dirac experiences say it shouldn’t be 80 in the Denon if the Bass Control filter was exported with a 70Hz XO.
With Bass Control the XO is included in the filters themselves and the Denon would be unaware of what it actually is and shouldn’t show any XO or at the very least should not allow an XO to be active or changeable when using Bass Control filters. (with regular Dirac the Denon XOs are used). So, if the XOs can be changed with a Dirac Bass control filter, then I would suggest the Bass Control filter is not actually active in the Denon for some reason. If you can see an XO, but you can’t change it then I will suggest it’s meaningless, although confusing.

Also, Bass Control does not calculate the best crossover for you. See Where/what should the crossover settings be when using Bass Control? AND read the link contained there in.
i remember i ran bass control so it said optimizing groups. Then i exported it.

Yep... I remember I had to change what Dirac set my crossovers in my HTP-1 Bass Control filter design. It did not always get it right, so you may very well have to slide it up or down if the response does not look smooth. The example that @JStewart links to is an excellent example.

I don't remember in the HTP-1, but in my MK3, once I run Dirac, my crossover settings for the processor are not selectable. However, I'm running DLART, a completely different architecture from BC.

For HTP-1 the crossover controls don’t appear in the UI when a DLBC filter is active. The controls for Large & Small also no longer appear. They are on the speaker selector page.

i dont even know what htp is i am new to all this. I have pc with windows 10 and umik1 and denon communicates via wifi thats it

It’s a different processor from your Denon. Sonnie and I were just saying that on his processor and my processor when a bass control filter is active the processor UI locks us out in one way or another from making changes to the XO. The way Bass Control works that should also be true on your Denon.

Is the Preset number that you transferred the Bass Control filter to the active Preset in your Denon? If yes, then under Setup Menu=>Audio=>Dirac is the Filter set to Bass Control?

it is saved spkr preset 2 and i named it 1 so 1 is active. I ran first dirac live then bass control then exported but dont know why its not greyed out and locked at 70

It won't change the setting from whatever you had it set to (80Hz) to whatever you ended up with in the Dirac filter design (70Hz). It's a different set of settings. However, I would think it would gray it out and make it unselectable or unchangeable once you have selected the Dirac preset. My guess is that even if you changed the crossover in your Denon from 80Hz to whatever, it would not affect anything as long as you select the Dirac preset.

I think hardcore_gamer99 is correct that when a Bass Control filter is in effect the Denon xo, distance, trim controls are “grayed out”

Ok, if the correct preset is active did you also check this setting below?

Setup Menu=>Audio=>Dirac is the Filter set to Bass Control?

He said it wasn't greyed out, which seems odd to me.

To confirm... is it not greyed out? If not, you might check that setting that @JStewart mentioned.
