Separate DAC and ADC

Hi,

Is it possible to have a separate DAC and ADC? My Topping d10s DAC is supposed to be better than the DAC in the Behringer UMC204. I don't think it is currently possible, but might it be in future versions? Is it a valid wish or are there fundamental problems?

Kind regards,

Input and output devices can be different. With Java drivers nothing else is required, if you use ASIO an ASIO wrapper like FlexASIO or ASIO4All would be required. There is no benefit from DAC changes for acoustic measurements, since the noise floor of the capture chain is many orders of magnitude above the noise/distortion limits of even a poor DAC. It could be beneficial for high precision measurements of electronics though.

Thank you for your answer. I somehow couldn't use both the UMC204HD and d10s on my windows laptop. It took some fiddling on my linux desktop, but I have done a few measurements with only the interfaces (kinda loopback). Now I have some results to try to make sense of :-)
