REW Beta Release Scan for speakers

Windows 11, latest.
REW, latest beta (100).

I'm trying to set up room EQ with the Dutch & Dutch 8c. REW gives the message: "Couldn't get the master 8c from the network. Try manually scanning for speakers using the Scan network for speakers entry in the Filters task pane."

Two comments:

• It would be helpful if the error message said how to find the Filters task pane, i.e., by pressing the EQ button. I had to use ChatGPT to find it.
• The "Scan network for speakers" entry seems to have disappeared from the most recent beta of REW. (I am just now about to install an old version.)

Debug information about the attempt to communicate with the 8c is logged in the rew_output.txt file in the REW log files folder, whose location is shown in the About REW dialog.

Here is an excerpt of that file, showing failures to connect to the 8c under 5.40 beta 100 and 5.31.3, then success under 5.20.13.

I am able to connect to the 8c in all cases with Dutch & Dutch's Ascend app, with Roon (and play music), and by checking the device list on my router.

Everything is hooked up with wired Ethernet.

Any fix you can provide will be most appreciated.
