RTA does not recognize all .wav files

The RTA window suddenly no longer recognizes certain .wav files. When I try to upload those, the prompt says 'Not supported' and REW erroneously identifies the .wav file as an mp3. It happens with some, not all .wav files but there seems to be no system to it. This function always worked up until now. I am on v5.31.3. running in macOS Sonoma 14.5. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome.

The V5.40 beta builds should accept the files.
