(March 30, 2024) If you’re looking for a little more low-end in your life but want to pump the breaks on your bank account, RSL Speakers’ latest release might be just what you’re looking for. Priced at an insanely affordable $299, the company’s new 300-watt subwoofer, the Speedwoofer 10E, was recently launched and made available for order.
The Speedwoofer 10E joins two other members of the Speedwoofer family and stands as the least expensive model, topped by the Speedwoofer 10S MKII ($449) and Speedwoofer 12S ($799).
According to RSL, the latest Speedwoofer’s designation – 10E – reflects its intent to design a “subwoofer for everyone."
Checking a comparison chart, the Speedwoofer 10E’s lowest output is slightly less impactful than the Speedwoofer 10S MKII (22 Hz) and the significantly more expensive Speedwoofer 12S (16 Hz). But its specified ability to hit down to 26 Hz is quite impressive, particularly when considering its sub-$300 price tag.
The Speedwoofer 10E is equipped with a 10” woofer and an XDR-300W Class D amp capable of 800 watts of peak power. Its cubed-shaped cabinet is the same size as the Speedwoofer 10S MKII, standing at 15.5” tall, 15” wide, and 15.75” deep with 40-pounds of weight. However, the more expensive 10S MKII sports a slightly more powerful amp and a flared rear port to reduce chuffing.
What’s new is a redesigned driver that features a stamped steel basket, ditching the cast frame found on the 10S MKII. The 10E also loses speaker-level inputs, low-level outputs, and a built-in wireless receiver, but buyers can add RSL’s AT-4/AR-4 wireless transmitter and receiver kit for just $80 during the purchasing process.
Owners will also appreciate the 10S’s Compression Guide tuning for impactful bass and transient performance. It also has an onboard selectable crossover for access to 30 Hz- 200 Hz.
The RSL Speedwoofer 10E began shipping on March 29, 2024, and can be purchased for $299 direct from rslspeakers.com.
