(January 26, 2024) PSB Speakers is celebrating ISE 2024 by launching its new SubSeries BP8 Powered Subwoofer. The BP8 is the company's first model in a new generation of subs to feature nCoreÒ amplification and advanced isolation. Priced at $1,499 (MSRP), it's currently scheduled to begin shipping in March 2024.

The BP8 features dual 8” drivers and a 500 Watt HybridDigital amplifier, all contained in a manageable sealed cabinet (13"W x 13"D x 14"H) outfitted with IsoAcoustics feet to control unwanted vibrations. Available finishes include Satin Black and White.

PSB says its designers placed an emphasis on eliminating unwanted resonances and distortions by engineering a rigid and acoustically neutral cabinet. The speaker's 8" drivers are positioned in a bipolar configuration, creating a dual opposed arrangement factory specified to dig down to that all-important mark of 20Hz. The sealed nature of the sub should give it a tight, musical quality with a sharp low-end rolloff that will appeal to fans of music, but its overall output number makes it equally enticing for home theater duty where soundtracks can easily sneak into infrasonic territory.

The sub's proprietary 8” drivers with woven carbon fiber cones and filleted rubber surrounds are coupled with ultra-high powered voice coils and robust 45-ounce magnet structures for high efficiency and power handling. Those drivers are fueled by a 500 Watt HybridDigital amplifier and nCoreÒ power supply, a pairing that PSB says delivers accurate transients.

The SubSeries BP8 will be on display in Booth 2H700 at the world’s largest AV integration show, Integrated Systems Europe in Barcelona, Spain, January 30 – February 2, 2024. For a full list of specs and information, click here.
