Do you have a favorite reference movie, Soonie?

So here are some pics and dimensions. If anyone sees possible issues please chime in. The ceilings are 8’8” tall. The wall I want to put the screen will easily accommodate 120”. The distance from projector mounting will be between 12’-14’ depending on where it’s mounted. My only issue will be surrounds which I’m willing to concede. I know….blasphemous!

Not really, although Monster Hunter could be it now as much as I like the look of it.

Jeff, I didn't realize you were in Kansas City or I would have chimed in earlier. I usually have NX7's in stock in KC so shipping isn't necessary and I provide free video calibration with JVC PJ's sold in KC, Omaha, and Des Moines areas. I've done lots of NX5's, NX7's, and NX9's. For anyone else trying to decide, if your room isn't completely black then an NX5 is the best choice. Also if your screen is 110" wide or large, then the NX5 is also usually the best choice. The two advantages of the NX7, lower black level and wider color gamut, are only of benefit in a blacked out room and a small screen that allows enough brightness with the color filter engaged. The color filter allows for almost 100% of P3, but reduces image brightness.

No, it’s probably doable but certainly not ideal. I’m just going to have the front three and subs starting out. I’ll cross that bridge later.

Projector was supposed to arrive Saturday but it was delayed. Showed up yesterday. The box was much larger than I expected.

I’m partial to Seymour, but he I am also 100% acoustically transparent so I can hide speakers (in-walls) and maximize footprint.

Yeah, acoustically transparent wasn't an option. Hopefully I’m happy with the screen chosen.

I hope that installer ran integration/calibration with the lights off?

I pretty much just stayed out of their way. I’m more than happy with everything I’ve demoed so far. I’ll be watching the Chiefs game on it tonight.

You may want to poke around and make sure they didn't leave motion smoothing engaged. Of course, you might prefer smoothing... but (IMO) your viewing experience will be best without it.
