So our family was in Jamaica for 8 days and just returned. My father in law took care of the house while we were gone however on Wednesday his 6 year old son apparently went down in the theatre room and turned on the projector (I guess he stood on the seating as there were fingerprints all over the lens and the focus was way out) and it was left on for several days (don't know why it never turned off due to no signal). Should I be concerned, the bulb hrs are at 609hrs but it looks dim to me.

I don't think I've ever heard of anything like this before. Turning projectors on is generally considered the hardest thing on a bulb. But I would think that leaving it on for days straight may be a problem as well. If it seems too dim I'd just purchase a new bulb and keep that one for backup. Is there any flickering?

Also, if your projector has a sleep timer/mode, enable it. That may solve any future issues like this.

No flickering that I can see, I had it set to auto turn off with no signal but the image from the AE8000u projector was blue so I don't know if my receiver even off is outputting something
