Unboxing the OPPO Sonica DAC

I really enjoyed and was impressed with the performance of the OPPO HA-1 DAC / Headphone Amp, and the new OPPO Sonica speaker. So I was excited to hear the new Sonica DAC announcement.

I was a little surprised that the Sonica DAC does not have a headphone output. OPPO is making a clear differentiation between the Sonica DAC and the HA-1.

Should be very interesting.
 
Spent some time comparing to the HA-1, my reference DAC......
 
I am excited about this because it appears to be something I can afford.
