All recommendations appreciated.

You didn’t state their purpose. If it’s video, the Audioquest Carbon is their top of the line for video — everything on up is better audio — and can be had for $60-75 on the used market. Noticeably better video quality than others suggested here, speaking from direct experience. Otherwise, a $14-20 one at Wal-Mart is fine. For audio, there really are differences, but the best relatively lower priced one I’ve come across, one I used to use between Oppo 203 and Directstream dac for DSD and now use between cable box and Oppo, is the Purist Audio Design. Was $200 retail (PM for better pricing source) — or watch HiFi Shark.

Follow up 8-29–22: In the new AQ line, the Vodka fills the place that the Carbon did previously.

Monoprice. Unless you're doing a long projector run, then go with a Ruipro fiber optic.

Monoprice. Unless you're doing a long projector run, then go with a Ruipro fiber optic.

I'd been using a 30ft monoprice certified which worked great, but its thick and stiff and 30ft was not long enough for me to run through the wall/ceiling to the projector. I had HDMI 1.4 cables in the walls but was too lazy or cheap to get fiber for the 4k 60Hz, but finally got a Ruipro and installed in April this year. This weekend I went to watch something and there was no picture. I was able to trace it down to the Ruipro fiber optic cable having failed. I purchased it from Amazon and there was no recourse left there,so rather than drop it or leave a scathing review as I suspect some folks do, I found Ruipro's customer service email on the web and reached out describing the problem and providing documentation for the purchase from Amazon. This was on Saturday night. On Sunday I got an email saying they were sorry and would ship a replacement asap, which you have to figure who knows when that might be. Then today I got an email saying the replacement had shipped and they provided a tracking number too!. While I can see some folks might be upset to have to re-run a cable because they didn't provide to easily do it when the time came, I'm pretty happy with the customer service. Stuff happens and they made it as right as they should have and did it very quickly. I will have no qualms purchasing more of their products in the future if or when needed.
