I recently added a Parasound Halo P6 2 Channel Pre-amplifier to my system in a room I use for both Stereo listening
and HT.

I connected the P6 via unbalanced RCA cables to my ATI AT542 NC Class D Power amp (500 wpc) and also connected the P6
to my Denon AVR X4000 (2013) going from the AVR Front Pre-Outs to the HT Bypass input on the P6.
When I play my AudioLab 6000 CDT or my Thorens TD-318 Turntable through this set up the Music sounds better than ever
coming from my Alta Audio Lelantos 3 - way speakers (41" 92 pounds each). These speakers reach down to 26 Hz so I do not
have a subwoofer in my system.

When I tried to play a concert DVD through this system using the P6 HT Bypass feature I don't get video or audio at all.
My Yamaha A1060 blu-ray player is connected to the AVR and the TV is on the correct input.
I thought that the HT Bypass feature allowed 2 channel listening and multi-channel HT from the same system????
Thanks for all responses to my issue.

It does and the Parasound would have zero effect on any video.

You‘ll need to do some troubleshooting to find out where the problem lies. :(

Do you have any other video sources connected to the Denon you can try?

Is the DVD player connected to the Denon with HDMI? Is the Denon connected to the TV with HDMI? If yes then try connecting the DVD player directly to the TV and see if you get a picture.

Thanks JStewart,
Still working on it have ordered new Balanced XLR cables and I need to try using the AVR and Blu-ray with the P6 turned off
since the Bypass mode is automatically selected that way.

I think the key thing here is you mentioned no picture and that wouldn’t have anything to do with the P6. With no picture AND no sound it would likely be the dvd player, the Denon, or the connection between the two. That’s the reasoning behind the suggestions I made.

When in HT Bypass mode the volume is controlled by the AVR... Also, make sure that your not connecting RCA and XLR at the same time... Is your TV and/or Projector and DVD player connected via HDMI?
