When I run A1E I get:

• Place the microphone at your primary listening position (ideally should be centered between between the left and right front speakers).

How many times do you want each speaker measurement repeated?
(Measurement averaging improves signal-to-noise ratio by √(number of repetitions) in dB terms, elimination will be more aggressive but Express session will take proportionally longer)
• Fastest: 1 -> To confirm your setup is working correctly before committing to multiple sweeps.
• Fast: 2-3 -> Very quiet rooms
• Recommended: 4-6 -> Good balance of speed and accuracy
• Slow & Safe: 7-9 -> Noisy environments
• Slowest: 10-99 -> Severe OCD

Anyone have any ideas?
On the AVR side, shortly before it shows TIMEOUT/ERROR that you see above, the entire AVR crashes. In other words, I plug in the mic, it passes the " -> Calibration microphone plugged in - passed." stage, then the screen clears and it goes into an Audyssey like calibration screen, and then it hard-hangs. No moving back and forth with arrows/cursor control will move anything, exit out of the setup mode, or do anything else - with mic plugged in or not at that point. The only thing I can do on the remote is power it off. Powering it on again, I tried this again; exact same thing.
Note that it didn't find my AVR automatically - I had to key in IP:
