Does AudioLense need to be imbedded in Roon or JRiver where all the media is from a file or streamed from Qobuz or Tidal? My speakers are solely dependent on AudioLense filters for crossover, timing, & frequency response. So am I prevented from using "real time" inputs like from CD or DVD player, or from the TV, or YouTube sources?

If you hook the CD or DVD to the same sound card that feeds the power amps & speakers, you can use the Audiolense Convolver for external sources.

OK, so how? The digital signal is entering that same computer/server. Let's say it is a S/PDIF optical signal. Does AudioLense have a way to run stand-alone?

My understanding is that the standalone AL convolver cannot decode 5.1 optical. You need to convert the 5.2 optical into PCM streams and then take those streams back through a multichannel analog-to-digital converter, or interface, with USB out that then goes to your computer for AL processing before going out from there to your multichannel DAC of choice.

I would, however, like to be proven wrong. JCR

Oh my! That’s a bummer. 2.0 is all i’m wanting for now. Then have AudioLense do it’s thing to send the info to my 8 ch Merging Hapi DAC for a 4-way stereo actively cr.
Does anyone know of a D to D converter (software or hardware) that can do this? I never dreamed it would be this difficult.
Shame on me for thinking I could take a stereo digital signal in, go through AudioLense, and get 4 channels crossed-over & time-aligned digital out to the right channel, and another 4 channels out for the left.

OK, I’ll see if I can do that. I’m using ASIO and Ravenna. It’s the only way I could get AudioLense to work. Don’t know if they will be compatible with windows audio drivers. But will give it a try.

You will have no problems with that.
