Dears,

First of all I would like to congratulate you and thank you for what you are doing! it is a great tool that I have been recommended to use it by the specialist in sound treatment I am working with for my room/home studio treatment.

I would like to ask for your support because I can not make the REW getting the Mic input from my RME fireface 400 interface. I am using Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6.8, REW 5.01beta20, and an external mic (Neumann km 84). I set up at default all, and in the mac book I set up as default the first mix input of the interface. It works in the OS preference tab signal (also in the interface sound check light, plus in software such as Logic 9), but it does not enter into REW.

I did a try selecting in the laptop the internal mic, with same settings in REW (default) and it worked, so seems that it just does not work with the interface input. Also the sound calibration has some clicks (I tried increasing the buffer but still...).

Thank you so much for your support in advance.

Regards.

It may be that your interface is too complex for REW. Here’s an old post on the topic from Home Theater Shack. It may be outdated information, so hopefully John will weigh in,

That is a very old version now, but as I recall smaller buffers tended to work better than larger. It is generally better to select the actual device and input than to rely on defaults. That version might not work properly with mono sources, but most interfaces are multichannel rather than mono. It may also be necessary to make sure the sample rate in REW is the same as the sample rate the interface is configured to run at.

Hello Wayne and John,
Thank you for your replies.
I have selected both the default and the specific interface "Fireface 400" but it still does not recognize the input. The only way I could get an input was through the default, but setting in the OS as default the input of the macbook pro which is not proper enough.
Sample rate is the same in both RME fireface 400 and the REW.
Thanks again for the support.

You may be out of luck. The Apple Java runtime had very limited audio support, unfortunately.
