No audio coming form REW while connected to car radio via bluetooth

So I have a 2013 kia soul that I recently equipped with a Sony XAV-AX8500 (stock speakers so far sadly) and I wanted to set up an EQ on the head unit but for some reason REW wouldnt play any audio through the car. I tried every setting I could including switching sample rates and drivers and even messing around with Windows settings but nothing seemed to work. Every other app on the laptop (Windows 11) I was using worked fine and played audio without any issues except for REW. I also recently came across this video

with my exact issue being described and happening on MacOS also. I was able to get bluetooth with REW working for a very very short period of time by restarting my head unit and having it automatically connect to the laptop I was using but shortly after running a sweep I abruptly heard a loud white noise (presumably from before when I was doing SPL calibration) that did not stop until I closed REW and upon reopening it I was back at square one with REW outputting no audio. Id love to make things simple and just use aux to get my audio across but unfortunately touchscreen Sony headunits dont support aux input so bluetooth is my only option right now.
