Hi Everyone!
I am currently using a Zvox sound base with my older 1080p BenQ short-throw projector. The signals all come into my DVDO Edge Green, with HDMI to the projector and optical to the Zvox soundbase. I am planning to upgrade the sound first with something from Goldenear (probably with a supercinema soundbar, rear supersats, and a sub for 5.1 to start). I'm having a hard time figuring out just what would a better bang for the buck, to power all that: cheaper separates or a better AV receiver. I know separates can get quite pricey, and I do see some really nice budget separates now, but then I also see plenty of good AV receivers around $1k-$1.5k that seem to be more than good enough. Either way, the sound will be significantly better than what I have now. What I don't want to do is get something and then wish I had bought something else. Which option should I use, cheaper separates or just go with a good AV receiver for under $1.5K? I am open to hearing recommendations. Thanks in advance!
