When it comes to a low pain sub-woofer, I have loved REL Sub-woofers. By low pain, I mean they in general, REL sub-woofers are so easy to place and blend in a stereo or home theater system. They generally do not connect the same way most sub-woofers do in that they connect to your amplifier via a Neutrik SpeakOn connector that then cleanly plugs into the back of the REL Sub.This system obviously uses full range high level signals to allow for an easier way to blend the sub and the main speakers much more easily. The Rel subs that I have owned were able to blend with any speaker I used with them without really causing me to hear the sub as a separate entity. The problem I had were that the T series could not really plummet the depths of modern movie sound tracks and I eventually sold them as home theater kind of took over my interest.

Accordingly REL has just released a new line of Sub-woofers made for Home theater called Serie HT. Kind of makes sense. I have not heard these yet but it I will really look forward to hearing them one day. There are two subs in this new series, a 10"( $499.00) and a 12" ($699.00) and if they blend the way the other series do, then these at a very reasonable price, may be winners. Here is the posting from the REL site and photos are taken from that site as well.

"Pure Home Theater Subwoofer Serie HT is designed specifically to answer the challenge of creating affordably priced, exceptionally dynamic, pure home theater powered subwoofers with the ideal combination of a lightweight, modern CarbonGlas™ drivers coupled to a powerful Class D amplifier that runs cool, producing extraordinary dynamics. Internally, we developed specially adapted home theater input filters that produce extremely at bass down in the 20Hz range."

Thank You, I did not see that one. A bit more expensive, but I would believe it would be quite powerful.

'We designed an all-new 15in driver with 3in of stroke fore-and-aft but, as with all REL driver designs, our focus is on speed and articulation, not just boom. A compact yet powerful 850W amplifier provides all the power necessary to shake walls and rattle cabinets.'

Looks like a beast! Awesome!!
Definetly agree
