With price increases looming and after over one year of research I finally ordered an SVS Ultra center channel to replace my Elac Debut 5.2 center. Old ears & damaged hearing makes dialogue clarity a problem for me on HT. I've gone from TV speakers to HTiB to Elac Debut 2.0 on speakers and have gotten small incremental improvements from each step but still rely on closed captions for movies. The Ultra center is "edgier" than the "laid back" Elac and if the Elac is a 6-7 for dialogue then the SVS may be a 8-9 which could be a more significant change that I expected (hoped ?). I haven't run YPAO or messed with setup as yet but I did back down the cc volume emphasis from 4 dB to 1 dB over the L/R speakers (Elac Debut 2.0). So far, so good.
