from cnn,

Netflix announced the blockbuster deal with Warner Bros. Discovery on Friday morning. It has agreed to buy the legendary TV and movie studio and assets like the HBO Max streaming service for $72 billion, plus debt.

If I were a betting on this... I'd bet it will be blocked

No wonder I have seen Netflix recently carrying HBO/MAX content. I suspect the subscription will also go up. Does this mean eventually HBO/MAX will be no more since all their programming is not part of Netflix?

The deal hasn't gone through yet... in fact, Paramount has made a hostile bid (all cash, I believe) to take over Warner/HBO.

This might be tied up in courts, but if you do a little research and follow the money, I think you'll find Paramount might have some favor that could sway things in its direction.

All of this consolidation will result in a monopoly. Expect prices to go up.
