Need external soundcard with HDMI output for laptop

I may be missing something obvious but I can't find an external soundcard for my laptop which offers HDMI output? Both my PC and laptop have internal soundcards but no HDMI output so I would prefer to add one for my laptop since it's more portable. I assume it would still need a USB connection to the laptop.

I don't believe there are any. You would need a USB to HDMI adaptor, Sam has listed some here.

Thanks John. Turns out the HDMI connection I needed to make is not just from the audio/soundcard but also can also come from the video card. Several years ago ran REW with stereo cable from the headphone jack. So I assumed that taking new measurements using the recommended HDMI also needed to come from the soundcard, hence my search for a USB C to HDMI adaptor. In my case, I used the Displayport (on my Surface Pro) with an HDMI cable. Seems to be working okay. If there is a problem I can always revert to the aforementioned USB to HDMI adaptor.

Motu HD Express has HDMI in & out, although I have no experience with it. Price is around $500.
